The Rice Box is looking for TWO Full-time Ethnic Food Cooks (NOC 6242) to join our growing team! We are a family-owned Asian restaurant serving the Vernon area since 2001. Our first commitment is to bring a wide variety of mouth watering, high-quality Asian food, using only the freshest and finest ingredients.

We are looking for Full-time Ethnic Food Cooks specializing in Chinese, Japanese and Southeast Asian Cuisine. Cook must be able to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing versatile round-bottomed works with handle.

This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $14.00/hr.

Responsibility and duties

Responsibility 1 – Cooking Chinese, Japanese, and Southeast Asian Cuisine in fast-paced environment.

Work Standard – Must follow The Rice Box’s cooking procedures and recipes to ensure highest quality.

Responsibility 2 – Manage daily operation such as cleaning, prep work, inventory ordering, customers’ complaints, taking customers ‘order.

Work Standard – Employee must fulfill company’s daily duties with efficiency and quality with minimal supervision. Prep work must be followed using company’s strict procedures. Employee must follow all sanitation codes and complete daily cleaning duties assigned to him/her. Employee must come to work in a positive attitude and must demonstrate commitment to his/her responsibility.

Responsibility 3 – Help the company meet monthly sales target.

Work Standard – Employee must show willingness to help the company meet its monthly sales target. Employee must attend monthly staff meetings to discuss on issues, company’s procedures and company’s monthly targets.

Job Requirements:

Minimum completion of secondary school
Minimum 1-2 years’ Cook work experience (Asian restaurant is preferred)
