Job Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
or equivalent experience. Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program or combination of over 3 years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in welding is usually required to be eligible for trade certification.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Experience
Over 3 years of work experience in the trade

Specific Skills:
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment;
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment;
Interpret welding process specifications;
• Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal;
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
Area of Specialization: Structural construction
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Welding Techniques: Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
Work Setting: Industrial
