Powerline Group Ltd. provides quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities and developers, as well as to industrial, national and international manufacturing companies across the GTA.
We are currently looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team based out of Scarborough Ontario. This role will be 70% in the field and 30% in the office.
Project Coordinators at Powerline Group Ltd. plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate all activities related to civil and/or electrical construction billing under the direction of the Civil Construction Manager.
This role involves a high level of multitasking, critical thinking and coordination to oversee numerous civil construction projects efficiently and effectively, as well as manage the billing of such project to ensure accounting accuracy.
The successful Project Coordinator will participate actively and maintain ongoing relations with foremen, supervisors, project coordinators and management within the civil and/or electrical department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reading, comprehending and interpreting blue prints and drawings;
Visiting multiple project sites to take precise measurements and maintain the highest level of billing accuracy;
Maintaining a constant line of communication with civil foreman, supervisors and project managers to ensure all photos and measurements are reflective of actual work being completed;
Preparing contracts, change orders and additional supporting documentation for submission to clients for approval as well as to third part auditors, consultants, contractors as necessary;
Preparing and submitting invoices (UPCMS) to clients and third party auditors on a monthly basis;
Assisting management with planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and controlling projects tasks according to specifications and budgets;
Preparing various reports and schedules for review by management and clients as required;
Implementing various quality and cost control programs;
Assisting with the planning and preparation of schedules and milestones, and providing feedback on achieving targets;
Various administrative tasks as required including but not limited to; scanning, photocopying, and entering information into various spreadsheets and databases.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A university degree in Civil Engineering or a college diploma in Construction Project Management, or other Construction Technology;
2-3 years of experience in construction billing or coordination in a large construction company, preferably within utility, natural gas or telecommunications sector;
Proficient with AutoCad;
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex blue prints and drawings without supervision
Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract;
Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions such as: heat exposure, cold temperatures, rain, snow etc;
Ability to gather, collect, assess and report critical information;
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
