Job Description

71-year old handicapped man with stage 4 esophageal cancer, cerebellar ataxia, incurable hypothyroidism and bipolar disorder, currently undergoing chemotherapy, is looking for an in-home caregiver who will provide personal care, assistance with daily routine, personal hygiene, bathing, mobility, administering medication, prepare and serve healthy and nutritious meals, housekeeping, laundry.
The caregiver needs to have at least a high school diploma, be able to speak clearly in French or English and have at least one year experience as a caregiver or 6-months related caregiver training.
Position is full time 40 hours per week, 4 days a week, usually on the days following the chemotherapy treatment days, three days off: generally Friday to Sunday but this may vary according to the employer’s needs, therefore flexibility is important for the employer. Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment. Salary is 17 $ gross per hour for 40 hours a week (adjustable according to the provincial minimum salary increase). The workplace is located in Montreal H1L 3B5.
