Hapa Izakaya Restaurant is seeking Lead Cooks with responsibilities for:

• Preparation of Japanese Izakaya menu items (dinner) by washing, cutting, preparing and cooking food items
• Assisting the Chef and kitchen staff as directed by the Chef
• Assisting with training of junior cooks
• Maintaining kitchen utensils, tools and stations
• Maintaining safe handling of food

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary of $22.00/hour based on a 40-hour work week. Benefits include vacation time per the Employment Standards Act. The language of work is English. Japanese language fluency is an asset.

The work location is 1193 Hamilton Street, Yaletown, in downtown Vancouver.

Candidates must have 3 or more of commercial cooking experience, including Izakaya cooking experience, or a combination of experience and a relevant cooking certificate. No minimum education requirement.

English is required, at least sufficient for emergencies.
