Building Maintenance Worker
(NOC 73201 – General building maintenance workers and building superintendents)
Employer: Comfort Inn & Suites, Terrace

JOB DETAILS
Salary: $23.80 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
Employment Conditions: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Morning
Start date: Starts as soon as possible

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Work setting: Hotel, motel, resort
Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• Perform minor repairs on appliances.
• Perform safety and security checks.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Perform and or oversee room and facilities upgrades, maintenance, repairs and renovations.
• Perform other maintenance jobs such as minor painting and drywall repair.
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as:
o Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safety.
o Ensure that exterior landscaping is well maintained and coordinate major work with professional landscaper if necessary.
o Perform routine maintenance of windows, interior walls and ceilings.
o Ensure that cleanliness and sanitation is maintained throughout the property, including but not limited to, washing windows, interior walls and ceilings, emptying trash cans and other waste containers, and other routine jobs.
o Maintain hallways, floors, carpets, stairs, elevators, and all public facilities, and coordinate repair if needed.
o Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION
Equipment:
• Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers
• Carpet cleaning machine
• Polishing machines
• Power lawn mowers
• Swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment
• Upholstery cleaning equipment
