The Comfort Inn® Dartmouth is one of the top hotels in the Dartmouth, NS area for both business and leisure travelers in need of restful accommodations by points of interest like Mic Mac Mall, Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Our hotel provides guests with clean, hygienic accommodations, so you can enjoy peace of mind during your stay. We’ve implemented a variety of enhanced protocols as part of our Commitment to Clean. Currently, we would like to hire 1 accounting bookkeeper to join our hotel.

Tasks:
· Maintain accurate financial records using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Manage and balance multiple accounts related to hotel operations, including revenue, expenses, and payroll.

· Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare the trial balance, general ledger, and financial statements to support smooth hotel operations.

· Process payroll for hotel staff and prepare payments for vendors, utility bills, taxes, and other operational expenses.

· Prepare and submit tax remittance forms, and other financial reports required by government agencies.

· Assist in preparing financial documents related to budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support hotel management in decision-making.

· Collaborate with the hotel management team to provide financial insights and maintain clear financial communication across departments.

· Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to the hotel’s high standards of accuracy and transparency, supporting our goal of operational excellence.

Required languages: English is required

Education level: Minimum college degree in accounting

Required skills: At least 1 year work experience as an accounting bookkeeper
