Job Description

What your key role will be

As the Exhibit Custodian, you will contribute to our continued success by being responsible for the control, security, and transportation of exhibits, including seizures and found property. In addition to this, your role includes, but is not limited to:

Exhibit Management Support: You’ll assist with a wide range of processes related to the control of police exhibits, and maintain appropriate levels of supplies and equipment.

Attention to Detail: You’ll have meticulous attention to detail to oversee, perform and complete exhibit and storekeeping procedures to a professional standard.

Communication: You’ll have excellent communication and active listening skills as well as the ability to convey information clearly and simply while ensuring you understand directions and information.

Confidentiality: You’ll navigate your role while exercising considerable confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. You’ll have a keen sense and awareness of the rules and procedures with respect to the handling of confidential information.

Customer Focus: You’ll be happiest when working with the public and our staff and you take great pride in rolling up your sleeves to get even the smallest of tasks done.

Decision Making: You’ll have strong decision-making skills that allow you to make confident assessments of policies and procedures and apply them accordingly.

Team Player: You’ll genuinely enjoy engaging with your teammates to get the work done. You believe in the importance of building and maintaining strong working relationships.

Time Management: You’ll manage your time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and with minimal supervision.

 You have the physical ability to perform the work in a safe manner when lifting, sorting, and arranging exhibits and property items of varying size and weight
 You pass and maintain a security clearance, including a background check and polygraph

Salary: $31.95 to $37.54 per hour

Training Period: The successful candidate will need to be available for a training period of approximately 10 days (2 weeks) of full-time training.

Hours of Work: This position is based on operational needs, up to 35 hours a week.
The successful candidate must be able to work during business hours between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on weekdays.
