Bamboo Chopsticks Vietnamese Restaurant in downtown Kelowna is looking for a Full-Time Executive Chef (NOC 6321) to join our team! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week, $19.53/hour.

Job Description :

Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of the restaurant
Oversee daily operations of the kitchen
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Create new items on the menu
Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
Supervise activities of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
Recruit and hire staff
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods: sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food

Job Requirements:

Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Chef. Experience in Asian cuisine highly preferred.
Completion of culinary training in traditional Vietnamese food required.
Basic English is ok – We are a Vietnamese-Canadian business speaking English and Vietnamese
