Responsibilities
Tasks:
• Prepare engineering designs and drawings;
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements;
• Develop and prepare design sketches;
• Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates;
• Prepare contracts and tenders;
• Write technical reports;
• Write specifications;
• Estimate costs and materials;
• Complete documentation packages and drawing sets;
• Examine drawings for conformity and errors;
• Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements;
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
Experience and specialization
Type of drafting: Shop drawings; Detailing drafting; Presentation drawings
Computer and technology knowledge: Computer-aided design (CAD); SketchUp; AutoCAD; Autodesk REVIT; MS Office; MS Windows; Spreadsheet
