Description:
-Title: Health care aide (NOC 33102)
-Vacancy: 2 positions
-Wage: $25.19 per hour
-Work Hours: 30-35 hours/week
-Work Location: 3315 Coldstream Ave., Vernon, British Columbia, V1T 1Y1
Requirements:
-Some secondary school education and some on-the-job training experience or completion of a related program in a college or authorized institution is required.
-Completion of specialized courses in CPR or first aid is an asset.
-BC HCA registry is required.
-Up to date Criminal Check with Vulnerable Factor is required.
-Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
-Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray is required.
Responsibilities:
-Provide assistance and reminders for medication administration, as well as measure and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
-Assist patients with personal care and hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and documenting fluid intake and output.
-Prepare and serve meals, offer guidance on menu selection, and assist with feeding if needed.
-Handle the weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning of patients, while also overseeing their exercise routines.
-Adhere to care plans, document observations, and maintain accurate records.
-Accompany clients on outings, organize recreational activities, and ensure their comfort and well-being during outdoor recreation.
-Promptly respond to call signals and administer first aid to injured or ill individuals within the limits of your competence during emergencies.
-Safely transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers for treatments or surgical procedures.
-Make beds, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the organization of patients’ rooms.
-Facilitate the transportation of patients between various medical care facilities.
-Perform shopping and other related errands as required.
