Communications Consultant

Available Positions: 1
INTRODUCTION: There is an immediate need for this position to continually update and monitor our Social Media accounts and the messaging and branding on our website. This position would monitor and respond to all general email requests that are received. As well, there is a need to ensure that our printed material (program brochures, annual report, annual operating plan, etc.) are written with a common voice and provide similar information. In addition, this position would be beneficial as we develop internal and external communication regarding our Capital Planning Projects in Hamilton and Brantford, as well as other new programs or services offered across the organization. Roles and Responsibilities: • Develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation. • Develop and implement a community engagement strategy for key organizational initiatives (i.e., capital process and new programs/services development). • Research and write press releases, and content for the company website, infographics, blogs, reports, and newsletters. • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, strategies, programs and services, and keep up to date with relevant developments. • Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events. • Facilitate social media customer service • Develop and ensure adherence to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy. • Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives. • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the Leadership team. • Build and maintain relationships with key external role-players. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field (essential). • A minimum of 2 years experience in communications strategy development (essential). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools. • Content writing experience for all media platforms. • Proven social media and networking expertise. • Strategic and creative mindset. • Meticulous attention to detail. • A portfolio of work available for review. Quality Assurance and Risk Management Coordinator

INTRODUCTION: De dwa da dehs nye>s is looking for an Quality Assurance and Risk Management Coordinator to plan, coordinate and organize key deliverables identified by Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA), in carrying out its goal to obtain accredited status throughout the organization. The Quality Assurance and Risk Management Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and/or coordination of the accreditation preparation and survey process. This includes leading De dwa da dehs nye>s in self-evaluation activities and supporting improvement initiatives associated with meeting CCA standards Roles and Responsibilities: The Quality Assurance and Risk Management Coordinator will: • Demonstrates leadership and promotes excellence in achieving CCA standards throughout De dwa da dehs nye>s. • Maintains knowledge of new developments, trends or changes in accreditation standards • Collaborates with Leadership Team and staff to promote effectiveness, accountability, and sustainability of De dwa da dehs nye>s services in a manner that meets accreditation standards and respects the De dwa da dehs nye>s vision. • Works with Leadership Team in the development and implementation of policy and procedures necessary to meet accreditation standards. • Works with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee to maintain safety standards and analyze critical incident trends within the organization • Maintains organizational compliance, including providing staff training, in statutory and organizational regulatory standards • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to share knowledge in accreditation to incorporate current best practices in service delivery. • Prepares briefing documents, evaluation reports and presentations • Provides quality improvement activities, including file audits, to address organizational priorities • Performs other duties related to continuous quality improvement as directed. STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: • B.A. related to healthcare or social service supported by relevant experience and a combination of knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for achieving accreditation. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Quality Improvement or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred. • Recent, related experience with an accreditation program or processes is preferred. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous traditional ways and culture, or a willingness to learn. • Self-directed with effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. • Knowledge of the delivery of Primary Care, Mental Health and Social Services. • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals toward the vision of the organization while fostering teamwork and commitment to excellence in the provision of care. • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and support change that is consistent with the vision, purpose, and operating principles of De dwa da dehs nye>s and in line with CCA standards. • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing. • Knowledge of Policy and Procedures • Ability to effectively evaluate processes and systems and provide support in planning and implementation.

Indigenous Housing Services Case Manager

Introduction: As a member of Indigenous Housing Services-From Homelessness to Community team, the Housing First Case Manager provides physical, emotional, mental and spiritual support for clients with complex needs, while assisting with housing retention and sustainability. The Housing First Case Manager is responsible for working with participants of the Housing First program to complete assessments tools, develop a personal care plan, and provide appropriate referrals to community agencies. Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability The Housing First Case Manager will: • Directly support participants on their case load in the housing first program for a period of up to two years; • Conduct bi-weekly or more frequently home visits to ensure housing sustainability and support regarding personal needs; • Develop a service plan with each participant based on their goals and wellness needs; • Monitor progress towards goals, reassess and redirect as needed, identify new goals as they arise, celebrate achievements with participants; • Act as an advocate and support person for participants by accompanying them to housing viewings, community appointments and during case planning meetings; • Empower individuals to identify their own health and wellness needs, and provide the tools and supports to help them achieve mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness; • Connect participants to internal and external programs and services via community referrals; • Work with a participants’ support system to engage and include them in helping to meet the client’s goals and needs; • Build connections and rapport with local agencies to facilitate smooth transitions, timely access to services and strong communication pathways related to mutual clients; • Ensure all paperwork and applications are completed and submitted to the appropriate community agencies; • Ensure client information is always accurate and up to date in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: ▪ Post-secondary degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university (Addictions, Social Work, etc.) or appropriate combination of education and experience accepted. ▪ 1+ years experience working within a social service organization particularly with Indigenous peoples who were experiencing homelessness accompanied with complex needs is essential. ▪ Experience and or understanding of the Housing First Model ▪ Proficiency working with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) ▪ Experience working with Indigenous people, communities and organizations. ▪ Valid class G driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle ▪ Knowledge of community resources, specifically Indigenous programs and services in Hamilton and surrounding area; ▪ Knowledge of case management/system navigation models and principles. ▪ Knowledge of tools, systems (Electronic Medical Records) and databases used in client services delivery and case management. ▪ Knowledge and understanding of the housing sector pertaining to homelessness ▪ Possesses self-awareness and engages in self-care techniques. ▪ Open to constructive feedback and professional growth and development. ▪ Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. ▪ Possesses excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
